Hi! I´m Maiju
As time went on, I got closer to my goal of working as part of a marketing team. I eventually became a Marketing Coordinator and later a Marketing Specialist for a large Nordic IT company. (So much for that beauty industry dream!) I really enjoyed my job and was living that corporate girl dream like ankle boots, blazers, and cute checkered skirts but something was missing. My biggest passion wasn’t actually creating social media content; it was everything else visual as flyers, presentation decks, and brand visuals that told a story.
During that time, I became very familiar with a platform we all know — WordPress — and I remember thinking, “Well, one thing’s for sure, I’m never going to design websites.” (WordPress wasn’t my favorite platform back then… and honestly, it still isn’t.)

I first got to know websites and online stores
My career progressed quickly, and soon I was invited on a business trip to Norway, where the company was undergoing a massive rebrand. I was sent to represent Finland and got to be involved in designing the new brand strategy, visual identity, and website. That’s when something inside me ignited. This was what I wanted to do — create brands that people fall in love with and websites that make them want to buy.
Through my work, I learned so much about marketing — understanding buyer journeys, modern trends, and what truly drives people to make a purchase. I also realized how much marketing had evolved, while websites seemed to be lagging behind. I knew I had something valuable to bring to the table, so I started exploring new possibilities.
I dove right in, investing a huge amount of time and money into learning everything I could. And one day, StudioMaiju was born.

Squarespace seemed nice, but then one day I stumbled upon a website platform called Showit
WordPress was never going to be an option for me, so I had to find something else.
